Welcome Apple

Ike Welcomes our New 2020-2021 New Eagles

Anthony Tocco—Associate Principal Intern

Hello my name is Anthony Tocco and it is my honor to serve as your Associate Principal Intern for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.

For the past 8 years I have been a member of the UCS community. I began my teaching career in 2013 at Graebner Elementary, where I taught both 3rd and 6th grades. After 6 memorable years, I joined the Wildcat staff at Shelby Junior High, where for the past 1+ years I taught 7th grade Geography, as well as having served as the AVID Social Studies teacher.

Prior to my start in education, I served proudly in the United States Navy for 5 years, where I had the opportunity to expand my cultural knowledge and meet people from all walks of life. My time in the Navy taught me the meaning of working as a team to accomplish a goal and that with teamwork, anything is possible. After my discharge I went to work as an automotive engineer and worked in that capacity until I made the life-changing, career decision to pursue my life-long dream of working in education. I went on to earn my bachelor’s degree from Oakland University, and then almost immediately, my master’s degree from Saginaw Valley State University.

In addition to teaching, I have previously worked as both a middle school and high school wrestling coach for over 14 years, and I am currently a registered high school and college football official. Both academics and athletics have allowed me the opportunity to serve as a mentor for high school age students and to be a part of their maturation process.

At home I am blessed to come home to my wife, Sara, who is also a UCS educator, and our 2 beautiful daughters, Savannah 10 and Charlee 6. As a family we enjoy anything that has to do with the outdoors, and spend our summers traveling from campground to campground.

As a member of the Eisenhower Administrative Team, I look forward to the opportunity of working with our students, parents and staff to help make the remainder of the school year successful!

Dr. Ritu Aggarwal—Special Services Teacher

Hello Eagle Family—I am proud to be a part of this exemplary school community.  This year may look a little different, but it will still be full of excitement!  I grew up in the famous city of Taj Mahal, India.  Later, moved to Kenya, where we still have a house on the equator.  I am a proud trilingual (Hindi, Kiswahili and Punjabi).  I have been working in Special Education for fifteen years now and I love what I do!

My teaching mantra is to encourage, support and empower our learners to do their best while laying a foundation for future success.  I earned my Doctorate in Developmental Psychology and a Master’s in Special Education with an endorsement in Learning Disabilities.  I consider myself a lifelong learner in the fast-changing technological times.  I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, traveling, and learning about different cultures.

Looking forward to the year!

Jill Bologna—Business/CTE Teacher

My name is Jill Bologna and I am a Registered Nurse, as well as a certified teacher.  I have been teaching Nursing Assistant and Medical Science classes at Utica High School since 2008.  I am excited to be teaching here at IKE this year on the “B” block days.  As for my clinical background, I specialized in intensive care, cardiac, post-anesthesia, and home care nursing.  I also worked as a nursing assistant through college.  I live here in Shelby Township with my husband Chuck, my two college-age sons (both of whom are IKE graduates!) and my cat Daisy. I am looking forward to a great year here at IKE!

Julie Guigar—Media Center Clerk

Julie is the Media Center Clerk at Eisenhower High School.  Previously, Julie was a substitute teacher at Beck Centennial Elementary School and enjoyed helping students learn while exploring and having fun.  She has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Saginaw Valley State University.

Julie grew up in Harbor Beach, Michigan, but now resides in Shelby Township with her husband and three children.  She loves to spend time with her family and friends, watch her children play sports, garden, bake, and volunteer.  Julie has been the treasurer and social/fundraising event planner for her children’s elementary parent group for many years.  Seeing the smiles on all the children’s faces is so rewarding especially knowing you helped make a difference in their lives.

Tina Moore—Special Services Teacher

Teaching students to become lifelong learners is a passion of mine.  My name is Tina Moore and I been with Utica Community School for 20 years.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Education through Wayne State University and furthered my education at Marygrove College where I received my Master of Education degree.

While teaching in Utica, I have spent my career in elementary where I had the pleasure of teaching 1st grade and elementary resource room.  Change is always a wonderful thing and I was ready for a new adventure, so here I am in high school.  I am excited to be working with the LCCE program at Eisenhower.
