Two Eisenhower High School Choir students have been selected to participate in the first ever Michigan School Vocal Music Association All-State Jazz Honors Choir.

Juniors Isaac O'Rourke and Meghan Tremmel were chosen by blind audition and join singers from across the state in this honor.

The MSVMA All-State Jazz Choir is made up of 20 singers, who will first meet for rehearsal on December 2, followed by two days of rehearsal at the Michigan Music Conference (Jan 25-26).

This will culminate in a performance at the Specialized Choral Hour at the J.W. Marriott Ballroom on Friday evening, January 26. They will rehearse and perform on a sound system and with a professional rhythm section.

The conductor for the inaugural MSVMA All-State Jazz Choir is Greg Jasperse, professor of vocal jazz at Western Michigan University and director of Gold Company. He has conducted more than ten all-state jazz choirs and is in demand worldwide for his expertise.
